I am writing this post because I got several questions about Unholy DK from couple of dks in the guild.I think I answered and explained everything I know to them ingame but still I may be wrong so I will write few sentences in here and I would like to correct me if I wrote something wrong.They maybe cant find some good explanations about unholy dks in the net so I will try to keep it simple.

As what I've read and played since 12th of December I can say that unholy is still the best dps spec for Death Knights.Another possitive thing about unholy are those DoT's.With that lots of running when fighting the bosses in ICC they are doing quite nice dps while you are not at the boss.
The rotation is very simple and easy to follow.

I've been asked how much ArPe an Unholy Death Knight needs.Well I think arpe is not important for Unholy Spec.What you have from gear is enough.Strenght is most important stat for unholy.Stack as much as you can.

I've been asked why Glyph of Icy Touch is better than Glyph of Pestilence.Well using Glyph of Pestilence will give you an extra Scourge Strike in the rotation which is still the hardest hitting attack of the Unholy Death Knight.But using Pestilence rather then reapplying your poison will lose you more damage than you will get from the extra Scourge Strike.The damage from the Icy Touch,Plague Strike,the Blood Strike you lose when you use Pestilence and the 20% damage increase of the Frost Feaver from Glyph of Icy Touch gives you more dps than that extra Scourge Strike.As my Frost Feaver DoT-ing for around 2000 on my highest AP moments and average 1500 means that those 20% damage increase is a very good thing.

For second glyph I am using Glyph of the Ghoul.My pet do around 1000 dps on bosses with that glyph and while you are stacking Strenght your pet is getting stronger aswell.

For third glyph I was wondering what to choose between Glyph of Unholy Blight and Glyph of Death Coil.As the DoT from the Unholy Blight is very low it is still a DoT.But those 40 % damage increase on those 60 damage that Unholy Blight does doesnt seems to attractive for me.So I am using Glyph of Death Coil.Hitting for around 7000 avarage and over 10000 on best moments I think that this is the best choice.

What every Unholy Death Knight must be aware of is not to waste attacks that generates Runic Power when he has 100 Runic Power.The best moment to use that Death Coil is when all of your runes are on cooldown but if you see you will do what i wrote in the previous sentence use Death Coil asap.

In fights like the Proffesor Putricide its quite bad to be Unholy.Changing targets so often but for short fight time does not gives you high scores on DPS Metters.As Unholy you are pretty much building up your dps.In short timed fights Blood can outburst you very very easy.But for longer fights I still think that Unholy is the best.

I think I dont have to comment the AoE damage you can do as Unholy.Its awesome.

I've been asked is the Gargoyle worth the talent point.Oh damn YES.The best time to use Gargoyle is when you have most of your AP/Str giving you abilities proced up and in the best case you will have Heroism too.As the Gargoyle calculating its damage based on your AP it will keep doing the same damage during the whole duration no matter of your AP changes.As mine Gargoyle hitting for around 4900-5000 on best moments it worth the talent point.

Well I think thats the basic for the Unholy spec of the Deaht Knights.If the Death Knights who asked me those questions ingame still have some issues about Unholy please ask me here not ingame.I may not be able to give you an answer right away or I may be afk and dont see your questions.

If I wrote something wrong please correct me.Thats only mine oppinion about Unholy.I dont say its "the best and most correct one" you can find.

Samozlo asked me about the rotation.Its pretty simple to be honest and easy to follow.PS->IT->BS->BS->SS->DC->SC->BS->BS->DC->PS->IT....

Another tip:when your runes are on CD and u dont have enough runic power to cast DC you can cast either Horn of Winter IF those 10 RP will give you enough RP to cast DC or Blood Tap->Bone Shield if its down.After casting Bone Shield cancel Blood Tap Aura so it wont mess up with your runes.Make sure that your Bone Shield is ip all the time.2% are 2%.Also use Blood Presence ofcourse.

Here is a simple macro for that:
/cast Blood Tap
/cast Bone Shield
/cancelaura Blood Tap

PS-Plague Strike IT-Icy Touch BS-Blood Strike SS-Scourge Strike DC-Death Coil ERW-Empower Rune Weapon

If you want to start with nuke rotation with Heroism at the start you should do this:

PS->IT->BS->BS->SS->ERW->SS->SS->BS->BS->Gargoyle->Horn of Winter and then reapplying the deseases.

Gargoyle (and the dancing rune weapon) benefit from all stats you have, so drink a speed (=haste) pot before you use him, and hell hit a lot quicker and do more damage.

Little update for unholy dks.

If you have (2) T10 bonus (even better if you have (4) bonus aswell) and majority of your items are from ICC 10/25 the so called "Reaping" build will increase your dps.

This is the build.You basicly take 3 points from Dark Conviction and put em in Reaping.
The rotation with this build is PS->IT->BS->BS->SC->SC->SC->SC and then again when your deseases expires.Ofcourse you are using Death Coil when you cant use SC.You are only using BS after you apply the deseases to convert blood runes into death runes.
