Welcome to the Gods of War.

These are the official guild rules. With becoming a member you state that you agree with them.

Introduction:

We are an end game raiding guild.

As such, we expect our members to:
- Gear up as best as they can outside of raids
- Be available for raids when they are online
- Be prepared when they join raids, meaning that they know and have understood the tactics and have class based consumables for a night of wiping
- Be willing to wipe more than we actually kill which is unavoidable if you run a progression bound guild

Community and Social behaviour:

We also cherish our community and strive to provide a pleasant atmosphere in which our members can enjoy the game.

Abusive behavior in any form is not acceptable and will result in quick and harsh penalties including kicks from the guild.

Leave any drama at the door to this guild. Meaning keep a mannered behavior at all times when you are and want to stay a member of the Gods of War, even when you're playing with non-members.

All the time you represent the guild. Therefore bad manners does not just affect you, but the whole guild.

Guildleader, Officers, Classleaders and Raid leaders have access to the Officers channel

[b]Guildleader Responsibilities

She has the final word on issues the officers and classleaders cant agree on.
She has to control the Officers work.
She has the last word on Guildranks, including Officers and Classleaders.

Officers Job

They are responsible for everything generally affecting the guild without stepping on the CLs toes. All issues can be brought up to them but try your CL first.

Class Leaders job

Class Leaders: Responsible for all issues within their class. They set up the rules for the class and control them. They invite and kick withhin their class.

Your Class Leader is your daily contact for all problems, suggestions and questions.

Behaviour and Misbehaviour:

While a member of the Gods of War you should:

- offer drops that you don't need to the guild, it'll make us all stronger
- offer services from your professions (crafts, enchants, cuts) for free to guildies
- not sell in Guildchat
- be polite and helpful in chat
- help if a mate needs help with anything important if you have the time

You are expected to behave according to the rules. If you dont, there are 3 ways to punish you:

1. DKP penalties - your hard earned points get taken away from you resulting in less loot - the normal penalty for wipe causing etc
2. Raid bans - you can get raid banned, meaning you cant join raids for a certain amount of time - the penalty of choice on continously unprepared raiders
3. Guild kick - Total lack of skill, social manners and/or activity will result in a guild kick rather sooner than later

Fix reasons for a guild kick are:

- If you havent been online in more than 1 month and haven't notified your Class Leader/Officer
- Talking/writing bad things about the guild in public
- Being rude and constantly disobeying GL/Officer/CL/RL orders, this includes not attaining decent gear needed for raiding.
- If you apply to another guild without announcing it and the reason for it to the guild leadership

Penalties and Punishment

1.) Pugging progress instance: 400 DKP - 400 DKP + lose a rank - guild kick
2.) PVP spec in raid: 100 DKP - 100 DKP + lose a rank - guild kick
3.) Causing a wipe singlehandedly via stupidity : 100 DKP
4.) No food buff: 10 dkp
5.) No flask: 20 dkp
6.) Failing to know tactics at all (basics): 100 dkp / 100 dkp + loose a rank / guild kick
7.) Going afk without telling or for long time during the raid: 50 dkp
8.) Ninja pulling a boss without causing wipe: 20 dkp
9.) Ninja pulling a boss and causing a wipe: 100 dkp
10.) Causing a wipe due to using forbbiden class abilites for the current boss (army of the dead, taunts etc): 100 dkp
11.) Very abusive language in guild chat: 50 dkp
12.) applying to another guild without notifying any officer: guild kick
13.) nerdrage guild quitting: all dkp
14.) failing to have ventrillo working for raid: 100 dkp

If more than 1 penalty is listed, thats for repeated violation. If you have less DKP than your penalty youll go minus and cant bid.

The Forum - A fun place, a helping hand and a place for complaints, suggestions and solutions

Use the forum!

You can get to know your guildies better, you can discuss the game and everything else. You will find answers to your class mechanics questions. Problems you see with the guild can be raised here, with an analysis of the situation AND possible solutions. Dont just whine.

We encourage you to post here. Officers will not ignore your concerns.

This does NOT imply that you comment on incoming applications. Those are only to be commented by the CL and under certain circumstances by the officers (CL on leave etc.). Anything you wish to say about an applicant goes here.

It does however imply that everyone has to register on the forum and read it regularly.

Raids

Raid Preparation

In general make sure you are the best prepared you can be. Have consumables ready the day BEFORE the raid.

Tactics

Every Guildmember is expected to know all tactics for the bosses the Guild is currently eyeing on. That includes those on farm as well as those on progress runs. Not being up to date will quickly result in raid bans and guild kicks.

Boss tactics and videos can be found at http://www.bosskillers.com, http://www.tankspot.com or http://www.wowwiki.com

Addons

The following Addons are vital and need to be installed, no exceptions:

- Deadly Boss Mods (Boss Timer)
- any threat meter like Omen or KTM

You cannot raid without them.

Very useful for raiding is

- X-Perl

A lot of other addons help you raiding, not all are needed. Check for yourself. A good site is this.

Ventrilo

Also at least being able to listen to commands on Ventrilo is needed in any raid. Make sure the system works when joining the guild.

Dont spam Ventrilo, especially not during tactics. Nothing but calm talk during a raid.

Raid Behaviour

Do what the Raid leader is telling you to do. If you cant do that leave the guild. If you have an idea wait for a break in the action and approach the RL with it via /w.

The following rules apply to raiding with us:

- AFKs is generally not allowed. In case its necessary you always whisper your Raid Leader for how long and why.
- Complaining/frustrations/cursing/blaming is absolutely not accepted and will result in raid kick and/or penalties.
- Trust that people do the best they can, and that noone is making errors on purpose.
- When the Raid Leader starts to explain the tactics NO talk in the raid chat and no emote spamming is allowed. Talking while tactics is being explained means raid kick.
- When the Raid Leader makes a ready check, then only press the Ready button if you are fully ready. Don't press ready and then ask for a buff 10 sec. later.
-If you are not inside the instance when the raid is announced to start you will get a penalty.

Raid times

Major raid invites START at 19.30, raid fully starts at 20:00 and ends at 23.00. The raid leader can disband a raid early. However, if you want to (or have to) leave before the official raid end you have to announce that at least 30 minutes in advance or face a penalty.

Loot

Every member of the guild has 1 primary raid role for which he gathers the best gear possible. That is either

Tanking
Healing
Melee DPS
Ranged DPS

You cannot roll/bid on an item for a secondary raid role unless noone needs the item for his primary raid role. Many ppl might need an item, only roll/bid if its a serious upgrade for your gear.

Raid roles are fix for raiding in WotLK. If you want a change to you primary raid role, your CL and the Officers have to agree with that.

Loot will be rolled upon in 10 man content with full members having prio over trial members.

Loot will be DKP based in 25man content.

The Masterlooter can on rare occasions intervene here for the greater good of the guild.

DKP rules are simple:

- Minimum bid is 5 on any item.
- Minimum raise is 5.
- First bid in the raid chat counts.
- Main spec over offspec, ignoring the DKP spend (e.g. 5 main spec beats 325 offspec).
- If we use your offspec for a specific boss fight, you are allowed to bid as Main Spec for both main spec items and offspec items dropped from that specific boss.
- Mortals (Members on trial, low activity) pay the full DKP price bid. Gods and above pay only 2/3. This is to encourage activity and being good while on trial.
- DKP is handed out and tracked with the webdkp addon. Normally either Ryako, Dabbar or Qkapichka have it active.
- You receive DKP for bosskills, wipes on progress bosses and being available to raid when there is a full raid (the waiting list). The amount can wary, DKP earnings will be announced in the raid or via wispers.
- DKP gets lost for penalties, loot and gets wiped if you leave the guild.
- You can check your current DKP by wispering the person with the addon active with !dkp or on http://www.webdkp.com/dkp/Deathwing/The+Gods+Of+War/

For any questions ask Ryako or Amalasuntha

Alts

Characters not being ones main can only join raids if no main is available to fill the spot and the certain class is needed for an encounter.

New Members

When you join GoW the first thing you do is register on the forum.
The second thing you do is read these rules.
The third thing you do is make ventrillo work for you.

After you have completed those first 3 steps you are on a 14 days trial period. Your Class Leader can extend this if he is unsure to a max of 4 weeks.
After the trial period your Class Leader will inform you if you are now regarded a full member. If not you will be removed from the guild. Any alts of people on trial will not be invited to the guild.

Applications elsewhere

If you are unhappy in the guild, confront your CL or an officer with the problem or make a serious thread about the reasons on the forum.
If you think you are better off elsewhere, inform your CL or an officer about it and then you can start the search for a new guild. You will be lootbanned until your staying or leaving is decided.

If you make an application to another guild without informing your class leader or an officer about it, your dkp will be instantly deleted and you will be kicked from the guild immediately.
